STEP #1: Acknowledge The Problem
Our first step in solving this problem was acknowledging it. The reality is, we haven't taught anyone how to build anything in our country for over 30 years, and the only way that changes is by fostering a culture of manufacturing and helping our younger generations understand where "stuff" comes from.
STEP #2: Stop The Bleeding
The next step is to stop the bleeding and destruction of solid, family-founded MFG companies that are either struggling to compete in the current market, or transitioning to exit. Banks generally won't finance them and traditional short-term-flip Private Equity (PE) groups are eagerly waiting to carve them up and spit them out.
The challenge is, there are currently only two options for MFG families to exit:
- Close their doors, or...
- Sell to the traditional short-term-flip PE groups
Neither of which solve our critical MFG infrastructure issues...
After all, who wants to work for a business that's in constant leadership/ownership turmoil, has a misaligned vision and growth timeframe, and is unfortunately run by people with little to no background in MFG? These are culture and productivity killers!
However, we know that making manufacturing cool again is key to attracting the right people to join us on this mission. We're tired of seeing our customers get gobbled up by short-term-flip PE groups, and watching years of our investment in relationship development at all levels through the supply chain get kicked to the curb because another new ownership group has taken over.

Manufacturing touches everything we do, have, and need in this world, making it the lifeblood of both our global and domestic economies.
When a society lacks the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to facilitate critical domestic infrastructure and supply chain operation, it lacks a sustainable way of life. This is obvious in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has exposed just how reliant the U.S. has grown on foreign manufacturing.
From labor shortages and shipping delays, to empty grocery store shelves and restrictive mandates, we've all felt the painful consequences of an insufficient domestic supply chain – whether you're in the industry or not.
The question is, in a nation capable of producing the goods and resources necessary to support a self-sustaining way of life, WHY did we feel these ramifications so intensely?
The answer is simple: Cheap foreign manufacturing never comes without costs. When you outsource the production of critical infrastructure and resources, you outsource a sustainable way of life and leave yourself vulnerable to the rest of the world... A dangerous position to be in as a world leader.

Matters To The U.S.
The Industrial Manufacturing Revolution of the 1800’s was arguably the best thing to happen to the United States since, well... the United States. This period brought tremendous economic growth and stability to the young country, teaching citizens how to sustain themselves and provide value to their society.
But then something happened…
As the corporate structure of the country shifted from local business, to “growth by acquisition”, and computing technology was on the rise, it's no surprise that most traditional trade jobs were outsourced overseas.
By training and educating overseas labor in these skills, the U.S. created tremendous growth and opportunity for foreign countries, while subsequently pushing for higher education and corporate positions within our own borders.
This has led to a rapidly growing skills gap in the United States, forcing companies to import most of their engineering and manufacturing work from overseas. As a result, the U.S. economy has grown dangerously reliant on other countries to produce everything for us.
The challenge is, if we're not teaching our own society how to build the physical products that support our way of life...

MFG.fund has established a community of abundance-minded, forward-thinking, manufacturing professionals and investors working together to advance modern manufacturing technologies and raise awareness around the tremendous opportunities available in American manufacturing today.
To us, MFG is more than a simple abbreviation for manufacturing. It represents the process of turning raw goods into finished products that work to Move, Feed, and Guard® our way of life. As industry insiders, we have a "front-row" understanding of the importance and global impact of manufacturing, and believe these skills to be true lifelong assets vital to any prospering economy – especially the United States.
With a domestic push for higher education and more "glamorous" professions like law and medicine, we recognize the unfortunate lack of knowledge and interest in manufacturing from young talent entering the job market...
We also recognize that this creates tremendous opportunity in the industry
for young manufacturing professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors.
